creative meditation
“Creative Meditation is a combination of process art and focused attention meditation into one practice. ” -erin mcgrath rieke
I designed creative meditation to be a beautiful marriage between two powerful exercises that helped reshape the direction of my life:
process art and focused attention meditation.
Tate Modern states:
“The term process art refers to where the process of making art is not hidden but remains a prominent aspect of the completed work, so that a part or even the whole of its subject is the making of the work".
The National Institute of Health (NIH) defines Focused Attention Meditation (FAM) as a form of meditation where:
“the practitioner is required to focus attention on a chosen object or event, such as breathing or a candle flame. To maintain this focus, the practitioner has to constantly monitor the concentration on the chosen event so to avoid mind wandering.”
