Getting to this point has been challenging for me. In order plunge into the next phase of my work, I have to let go of the many things that stand in my way. This means saying goodbye to items that helped protect my heart, mind and soul during both the brutal and brilliant parts of my journey thus far.
While I am not afraid of change, I am aware of the discomfort that sits in the bottom of my stomach, incessantly churning as I think about letting go the memories captured on paper with acrylic paint and chalk pastels.
These pieces were never intended to become anything more than a way to communicate an emotional experience. They were vehicles back to the person I once was before the beginning of the madness.
