Aria Rising: A Symbol of Hope, Strength, and Community Healing

Aria Rising began as a broken mannequin and discarded materials, but through the creative vision of the Divinemoira Studio creative team she transformed into a powerful symbol of hope and resilience for survivors of sexual assault and violence. Inspired by the Angel Band Project's mission to use music as a therapeutic tool for survivors, Aria Rising combines art with community engagement to raise awareness and empathy.

This interactive installation features a human-sized angel sculpture adorned with a dress made from repurposed materials, including empty pill bottles and containers. These vessels symbolize the burdens carried by survivors, but also serve as spaces for healing. Viewers are invited to write messages of hope, support, and understanding on colorful paper and place them into Aria's dress, transforming the sculpture with each new contribution. Through this interaction, Aria Rising becomes more than just a visual pieceā€”it evolves into a collective expression of solidarity and compassion.

As a traveling exhibit, Aria Rising has made its way to universities, high schools, theaters, and other community spaces, serving as a beacon of awareness and support. Her presence is a reminder that healing is a shared journey, and that by coming together, we can create a more compassionate world where every voice is heard and every survivor is seen.
