(4:56pm-at home, kitchen)

Four minutes to write. All I have to do is write for four minutes. The catch with writing for four minutes in this situation is there are no backspaces or deletes permiteed. It’s about letting yourself write and make mistakes, and accept them when they arrive. Jump in. Dive in. Trust the part of your sould that guides you. Stop listening to the fear that shouts from hidden places. Bring the hidden places light. Shine. Trust. Believe in yourself.

The four minutes have expired. I have completed the first exercise.

That was torture.

The next part of the exercise is to hit publish without reading or editing what was just written.

Do it. Trust.

(5:47 pm- at home, front porch)

thirteen minutes to write.
I will attempt to explain the concept. Perhaps in doing so, I will clarify the project for myself. The objective of this writing assignment, self-imposed like all of my other things, is to create a sense of order, routine and practice in both my life and consequently, my writing. Being one that thrives on structure, I’ve come to recognize how little I have in my life these days. There was a time I needed to break away from structure, because at the time I allowed schedules and obligations to dominate my life. However, I have had an opportunity to spend time self reflecting and I see what I am lacking. By requiring myself to write as a practice, just as I practice meditation, art, and photography, it is my goal to learn and grow in a creative space that was once my only sanctuary. For the first part of this project, I am doing my best to just write freely and without editing. No backspace or deleting allowed. This is about trusting my inner voice to come out.

the objective in for this assignment is to finalize a menu for next week.

  1. What’s on the calendar? (busy week)
