FREE WRITING EXERCISE:

  1. gather writing materials for this creative expression free writing exercise (utilize what you feel most comfortalbe with ie. pen/paper, computer, ipad)

  2. set timer for five minutes

  3. ideally find space in a quiet room

  4. turn timer on, close eyes

  5. write down every single QUESTION that comes to mind.

  6. when timer chimes, flip paper over (or close computer/ipad, etc)

  7. walk away from your questions.

  8. set another timer for 30 minutes

  9. while away from the questions you wrote work on something both mindless and physical. (recommendations include mild exercise, yoga, walk, general housework)

  10. when timer chimes return to a quiet place with your writing device

  11. set timer for five minutes

  12. as you set off the timer to begin your free writing, ask yourself about how you feel.

  13. write down everything that comes to mind.

Who am I? What am I? Where am I going? What am I doing? What do I want? What do I am to accomplish? What will my legacy be? Do I think I will leave a legacy? Do I make a difference? Can I make a difference? Does anyone make a difference? Does it matter in the end? Why am I like this? How did I get here? Where are we going? Where did we come from? Where did everyone go? Who will be here in the end? What does the end look like? Why do I care? Why would anyone care? Why don’t we just abandon the rules and follow our hearts? Why do we accept conformity? Why do we grow so comfortable in discomfort? Why do we settle for less than we deserve? Why are so many people angry? Why does it hurt so much to trust? Can you really trust anyone? Can I trust myself?
